37who was [the son] of Mathusala, who was [the son] of Enoch, who was [the son] of Jared, who was [the son] of Maleleel, who was [the son] of Cainan,
38who was [the son] of Enos, who was [the son] of Seth, who was [the son] of Adam, who was [the son] of God.:

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with the God, and the Word was God.
2The same was in the beginning with the God.
3All things were made by him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness apprehended it not.

9[That Word] was the true Light, which lightens every man that comes into this world.
10He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

14And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth.
